The following provides a summary of access status for major roads across Queensland for both general travel and heavy vehicle industry travel. These are available as a downloadable file in a portable document format (PDF) and are time and date stamped. To improve and maintain the connectivity of the road network across Queensland, a number of heavy vehicle and freight restrictions are in place and are available from the Heavy Vehicle Industry Road Report.

  Flinders Street between Denham Street and Stokes Street is where a planned event will be occurring every Sunday commencing 14 August 2011. This event will commence every Sunday at 6:00am and finish up the same day on 3:00pm. A full closure of Flinders Street between Denham Street and Stokes Street will be in place for the duration of the event.

  TOWNSVILLE CYCLE CLUB - Various roads around the Northern region will be the place of a number of cycling races from 18 March through to 22 August 2012. There will be no traffic control, signage or road restrictions. If you want further information on what roads these races will be effecting please contact the Townsville Traffic Management Centre between 6:00am and 6:00pm weekdays on 131940.

  Due to the Triple J Festival Saturday 2nd June there will be an increase in traffic volumes on the Moonie Highway (Nicholson Street Dalby) Dalby Show Grounds area.

  Warrego Highway, Kingsthorpe - FARMFEST.
  Event Starting: 05 June, between 9am and 5pm.
  Event Completion: 07 June.
  All directions. Allow extra travel time.
  
  Due to FARMFEST on June 5th, 6th and 7th 2012 there will be an increase in traffic volumes on the Warrego Highway affecting traffic in both directions.
  Motorists travelling on the Warrego Highway between Toowoomba and Oakey between the hours of 09:00am and 05:00pm may experience high volumes of traffic and possible delays.

The following flood maps are provided as a point-in-time reference only. The maps do not replace the full textual list of road closures listed above as they are updated as conditions change.

 

The maps are provided as a visual representation of road closures currently affecting the road network at an individual regional level.

 

Maps are updated at approximately 11:00am each day Monday to Friday. Please note maps are only provided for regions with active road closures due to wet weather and flooding, if a region does not have any active road closures there will be no map provided.

 

The flood maps now display five colours in use that represent conditions of affected roads. A legend is now available at the top of each map. The colours being:

— Blue for Open (with conditions) 
— Pink for Excess Mass or Dimensions
— Orange for Load restriction 
— Brown for Closed

  Wardell Street, Ashgrove - Commencing: 23 April, at 12:00am planned roadworks are taking place.
  Unknown traffic impact. Allow extra travel time. Expected completion is 30 June, at 11:59pm.
  
  The Department of Transport and Main Roads is undertaking road works on Stewart Road and Wardell Street between McLean Parade and Edith Street at Ashgrove.
  
  Works will take place during the day from 10am to 2pm, and at night from 7pm to 6am.

• BURBANK - MOUNT COTTON ROAD 07:00 AM 15/11/2011
  

  Mount Cotton Road, Burbank - Commencing: 7am to 5pm Monday to Saturday planned roadworks are taking place - At the intersection of Mt Cotton and Alperton Roads.
  No blockage. No delays expected. Observe signage. Expected completion is late 2012, weather permitting.
  
  Stage 1 construction works are being undertaken as part of the Redlands Corridor Program.

  Maundrell Terrace, Chermside West - Commencing: early 2012, at various times planned roadworks are taking place Both Directions - At Maundrell Terrace and Hamilton Road intersection.
  Partial lane closures. Short delays expected. Observe signage. Expected completion is mid 2012.
  
  Brisbane City Council is upgrading the Maundrell Terrace and Hamilton Road intersection. Lane closures will be required on both roads throughout the works.
  
  Intermittent night works will take place throughout the project to minimize traffic congestion and maximize safety for workers and motorists.

• CORINDA - OXLEY ROAD 11:56 AM 27/02/2012
  

  Oxley Road, Corinda - Commencing: 27 February, at 11:56am planned roadworks are taking place.
  Short delays expected. Reduced speed limit (40km/h). Expected completion is 31 July, at 11:59pm.
  
  Brisbane City Council is upgrading the Oxley Road and Clewley Street intersection.
  
  One lane of Oxley Road will be closed for the majority of the project to allow Oxley Road to be widened.
  
  Some works will be carried out at night, between 7pm and 6am, to minimise traffic congestion and maximise safety for workers and motorists.
  
  Further temporary lane closures will be required during these times.

  Works will commence in mid-April 2012 and are scheduled for completion by late 2014, weather and construction conditions permitting. Works will be carried out Monday to Saturday between 7am and 5pm, with some night works as required.

  - Widening the motorway to three lanes to reduce congestion and encourage long distance trips to remain on the motorway, rather than using local roads.

  Concrete barriers, screening and traffic signage will be in place for the safety of motorists and construction workers. The speed limit in this area will be reduced to 60km/h.
  
  The Victoria Park Road exit and entry from the ICB will also change, with the relocated Victoria Park Road open to all vehicles.
  
  A roundabout will be created on the new Victoria Park Road for the safety of all vehicles.
  
  These traffic changes are required to allow for the continued construction of Brisbane City Council’s Legacy Way tunnel project.

  The Department of Transport and Main Roads would like to advise of further temporary full road closures that are required as part of the reconstruction works underway on Woombye-Montville Road.
  
  The temporary closures are to be implemented on a section of Woombye-Montville Road that is currently already closed to through traffic.
  
  It is the same landslip site where a full closure occurred on 31 March 2012 for vegetation clearing, about 700m along Woombye-Montville Road from the existing road barriers at Kirby Road.
  
  The closures are required for repairs works on the landslip and are necessary for the safety of road users and road workers.
  
  The works will at times involve falling rock and the use of large crane equipment.
  
  The closures will occur from 7 am to 5 pm on the following dates (weather permitting):
  · Wednesday 9 May 2012
  · Monday 14 May 2012 to Tuesday 22 May 2012, excluding Sunday 20 May 2012.
  
  Outside the closure hours, the road will return to its existing configuration.
  
  Residents and local traffic will be required to use Shurvell Road as a diversion route during the closures. We apologise for any inconvenience during this time.

  The Department of Transport and Main Roads would like to advise that the D’Aguilar Highway through the Blackbutt Range will remain operating as a single lane under traffic control. The department had intended opening the Blackbutt Range to two lanes by Christmas. With recent wet weather, the program of works has been delayed and the highway cannot be safely opened to two lanes. The highway will remain operating as a single lane under 24-hour traffic control, with a 3-metre width limit. Westbound traffic can move through on the hour and every half hour. Eastbound traffic can move through at quarter past and quarter to the hour.
  Works on the Blackbutt Range are occurring as part of Operation Queenslander, which is the largest reconstruction effort in Queensland’s history, rebuilding communities, fixing infrastructure and restoring regional communities. The project is being delivered under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA), a joint federal and state initiative.

  The Department of Transport and Main Roads would like to advise you works to repair the hairpin bend section of Samford-Mount Glorious Road (PEI Road) will recommence next week.
  The work will widen the road on the downhill side and stabilise the downhill slope by installing a gabion retaining wall (wire mesh baskets filled with rocks). Initial work will include construction of an access track to the bottom of the slope and investigations into foundation options for the wall.
  The retaining wall on the uphill side will remain in place while plans to stabilise the upper slope are finalised.
  Works are expected to take about six months, weather permitting.
  The department will continue to keep the community informed via email, SMS messaging and VMS boards and would like to thank road users for their continued patience and understanding while the works are completed.

  Gold Coast Highway, Broadbeach - Commencing: May 2012 planned roadworks are taking place Both Directions - Between the intersections of Aubrey Street and Australia Avenue.

  Roadwork and associated activities are occurring on both sides of the Gold Coast Highway. The main traffic changes in this area include:
  
  - One northbound lane of the Gold Coast Highway, between Wharf Road and Remembrance Drive, will be closed between 9.30am and 7.30pm Monday to Saturday.
  
  - The northbound U-turn and the southbound U-turn and right-hand turn at the intersection of Cannes Avenue and the Gold Coast Highway have been removed until mid-2012. All other turning movements into and out of Cannes Avenue will remain unchanged.
  
  - There are changed traffic conditions at the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway, Remembrance Drive and Surfers Paradise Boulevard to realign these roads in preparation for the light rail system. Traffic can travel on the Gold Coast Highway through this intersection north and south, but all turning movements have been removed with the exception of the left-hand turn from Surfers Paradise Boulevard into the highway heading south.
  
  - The intersection of Monte Carlo Avenue and the Gold Coast Highway has been temporarily closed until mid-2012. Access will be available via Monaco and Rylie Streets.
  
  - Aubrey and Frederick streets, at the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway, will be temporarily closed until mid-2012. Motorists can access the Gold Coast Highway from these streets via Fern Street.
  These changed conditions will continue until mid-2012. Motorists should expect delays during peak times and are advised to use alternative routes if possible.
  
  - Temporary intersection closures are continuing along the Gold Coast Highway at St Kilda, Rosewood and Britannia Avenues.
  
  - The left-hand turn out of Armrick Avenue onto the Gold Coast Highway is temporarily closed until mid-2012. Armrick Avenue motorists will be able to access the Gold Coast Highway via Surf Parade and Australia Avenue to the south or Wharf Road to the north. The left turn into Armrick Avenue from the Gold Coast Highway will remain open.
  
  - Night work will occur on the Gold Coast Highway between Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise and Australia Avenue, Broadbeach, between 6.30pm and 6.30am, Sunday to Thursday nights inclusive. In some sections of the work zone, the Gold Coast Highway will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction with the speed limit reduced to 40 km/h.

  Cunningham’s Gap
  • The reconstruction at Cunningham’s Gap reached a major milestone in March when work started at the final and most badly damaged site at Clayton’s Gully.
  • A new stretch of road, 600 metres long and four lanes wide, will be built at Clayton’s Gully, which is the last of 11 pavement reconstruction sites to be addressed. As this is a new section of road, there will be minimal disturbance to traffic while construction is under way. Traffic controllers are on site to assist construction vehicles in and out of the site and the speed limit has been reduced to 40 km/h. Work on the realignment is expected to be completed in July 2012, weather permitting.
  • More than $40 million has been committed to reconstructing the Cunningham Highway at Cunningham’s Gap.

• MOUNT WARREN PARK - BEAUDESERT BEENLEIGH ROAD 07:00 PM 22/05/2012

  Traffic changes on the Ring Road and surrounding road network required for completion of the Douglas Arterial Duplication are listed below.
  
  The Motorway – subject to weather
  
  • All northbound and southbound lanes on the Douglas Arterial will be open to traffic from Friday 18 May.
  • The new motorway on-ramp from Angus Smith Drive and off ramp to Riverside Boulevard will be open to traffic during the week commencing Monday 21 May.
  • Intermittent shoulder and / or lane closures will continue along both sides of the Douglas Arterial for southbound spot repairs, landscape maintenance and finalisation work. Such closures will be outside peak travel times.
  
  Angus Smith Drive Motorway Overpass
  Until June 2012
  
  Work will continue on the motorway overpass retaining wall on Angus Smith Drive until June. Traffic incoming to the hospital will be reduced to one lane, with tapers merging on the approach to the motorway overpass. The footpath will remain closed to pedestrians and cyclists.

  Work is continuing on the reconstruction of the Bruce Highway at the Spiller Street
  intersection. Works are expected to be completed mid 2012.
  • The Bruce Highway is reduced to one lane through the work site and speed restrictions
  are in place. This project will involve the intermittent closure of some local roads.
  • The western side of Spiller Street has now partially reopened. For safety reasons, a left
  in, left out only turn will be in place until the completion of the works.
  • The Eastern side of Spiller Street is now closed. Detour signs are in place.
  • This project will include the installation of three dedicated turning lanes from the
  highway into Spiller Street- a left and right turning lane for vehicles heading south and a
  right turning lane for northbound vehicles.
  • Brandon businesses are open and accessible, and appreciate your continued support.
  Signage and traffic controllers are on site to assist business patrons.
  • Works will focus on improving the road and ensuring the road meets the national highway standard.
